At AED, we view training and technical assistance as a setting for behavior change, as well as a venue for building skills and creating awareness. To us, the most important question is: “What do we want participants to do after the training that they are not doing now?”

Whether delivery is on-site or online, we have found that training and technical assistance is most successful when it is based on careful needs assessments, employs participatory methods, and results in clear, concrete outcomes. Our evaluation assesses not only how people feel when the course is finished, but how they apply what they have learned weeks later.
