Julia provides programmatic and research support for a variety of projects. She conducts background research, contributes to Web site updates, and develops communications materials. She performs community outreach to more than 800 community sites for the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute’s We Can! childhood obesity prevention program. Ms. Goldberg also coordinates efforts for the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC’s) new effort to translate and disseminate the Community Guide for community obesity prevention, researching and developing the communication strategy and organizing an expert panel to advise the direction of the project. For a CDC workplace obesity prevention project, she collaborated with other staff on the development of the project’s brand, program materials, and website. Ms. Goldberg is collaborating on the development of a White Paper and accompanying presentation on marketing and communications strategies for colorectal cancer prevention as well.
Before joining AED, Ms. Goldberg earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Community Health and Biopsychology at Tufts University. She completed a senior thesis on implementing programs to promote and enable healthy nutrition and physical activity habits in an elementary school in Medford, MA. While in the Boston area, Ms. Goldberg also worked as a Research Assistant for a cancer prevention intervention at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. |
