		Meredith Williams Associate Director

Meredith brings more than 13 years of experience supporting health communications projects for Federal government clients and nonprofit organizations. Currently, she oversees the strategic planning, formative research, and communication program design for obesity-related projects of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Institutes of Health. Ms. Williams provides day-to-day management of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute’s (NHLBI) Healthy Weight Initiative, an obesity prevention initiative targeting parents and adolescents with national media, partnership development, and community outreach components.

Prior to joining AED in 2004, Ms. Williams served as a vice president Washington-area consulting firm, where she built a health communications division to provide public awareness and media campaign planning, formative research, outreach, and material development for clients such as the National Institute on Drug Abuse, the National Eye Institute, Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, and the Spina Bifida Association of America. She has produced award-winning PSAs and Web sites, created educational materials for special populations, and managed a national partnership effort of more than 100 Fortune 500 companies and health care organizations. Ms. Williams also served as an information center manager coordinating the operations of call center staff and public inquiry responses for the NHLBI.

Ms. Williams holds a master’s degree in public health from the George Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology from Purdue University.
