David Windt is a seasoned health communications and marketing professional whose experience spans the public and private sectors. He has twelve years of commercial marketing expertise for such clients as Toyota, Glaxo, Apple, and Procter & Gamble, including a four-year stint as account director for Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising.
David provides strategic planning and message/materials development for the NIAID HIV vaccine education initiative, including formative research with high-risk populations for support and participation in clinical trial research studies, and communications support for national and local partner organizations to promote trial research. He manages the activities of AED’s subcontract on a family planning and reproductive health project in Ukraine. He provides technical assistance for the project’s family planning promotion campaigns, as well as for recruiting and engaging local Ukrainian organizations to disseminate family planning messages and materials. This has included designing and co-facilitating health communication trainings for local partners.
As vice president of Better World Advertising, a social marketing agency, David was responsible for all aspects of agency work, including business development, campaign planning, implementation and evaluation, strategy and creative development, media buying/planning, and copywriting. He managed projects in HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted infection and alcohol and narcotics prevention. Mr. Windt holds a master of public health degree from The Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor’s degree in English from The California State University at Fresno. |
